LÖYLY, by Willer Rocha, celebrates through poetry the intensity of heat, the vulnerability of the body, and the power of human connection. Inspired by the world of the sauna, the choreography moves through rituals of purification, contrasts of temperature, and sensations of rebirth. It is also a celebration of flesh and of the desire to be alive. A dive into the physicality of being, where sweat, touch, and breath become witnesses of existence. A body that pulses, that reveals itself, that insists.
The choreographic experience celebrates the intensity of heat, the delicacy of the body, and the power of human connection. LÖYLY dives into rituals of purification, thermal contrasts, and states of presence that awaken both body and spirit. The word "löyly" comes from Finnish and names the steam that rises when water touches glowing stones. More than simple vapor, löyly carries an ancestral and spiritual meaning: it is a breath of renewal, transcendence, and communion. The choreography moves through sensory landscapes: the ritual awakening, the intimacy of shared heat, the mythical presence of the steam master, the invigorating shock of the cold plunge, and the meditative return. A journey that transforms, warms, and reconnects.
